We ask you to take a few minutes to see and listen to four El Sol Scholarship recipients and one of El Sol’s outstanding leaders.
Please Help Us Build the American Dream!
El Sol is a wonderful publicly chartered school. It began 20 years ago as a small school serving close to 125 kids in Santa Ana. Its parents and students were mostly poor as to income but rich as to aspirations. Its student population has grown to over 1,000, mostly low income, Latino students, many of whom are immigrants or children of immigrants. The School has 1,000 students on the waiting list.
Recently, the National Center for Urban School Transformation indicated that El Sol was the top dual immersion School in urban areas and among the top 15 urban schools. El Sol students, after graduating high school, are now at colleges and universities, such as Yale, University of Pennsylvania, NYU, UC Berkeley, Stanford, UCI Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UC Merced and CSUF etc.
Yes. But it needs your help! The students need the funds as soon as possible. The pandemic and economic uncertainty has left far too many El Sol parents without jobs and zeroed out family savings accounts. As a result, many students from El Sol who are graduating from high school must choose between work and college now. The El Sol Foundation’s American Dream Scholarship Fund will help them go to college.
Since it was created three years ago, it has provided over 40 four-year scholarships. They average nearly 10,000 dollars for needy outstanding students. While the Foundation would like to increase the number of scholarships to meet need, at a minimum, it must match the over 70,000 dollars already raised from four business and foundation leaders. The Foundation needs to match existing gifts to reach the total required of 140,000 dollars. If we are successful the El Sol Foundation will be able to continue the American Dream Scholarships at last year’s level. We need your support to make this happen!
100% of all donations go directly to students to cover gap costs impeding their ability to accept admission to college. Gifts are tax deductible. The El Sol Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.
The El Sol Foundation hopes you will consider a gift for the American Dream Scholarship Fund. The return on your generous investment will enable students from El Sol to convert their American Dreams about a meaningful career to reality – one that contributes to America, their community, their family.
